Hydrogen by Kouros

Investment in hydrogen production and in technologies using this energy source is at the heart of Kouros’ priorities.

As a new energy carrier, hydrogen is a response to the necessary energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy.

Thanks to its high energy density and to new technologies allowing it to be produced with a greatly reduced carbon footprint, hydrogen has the capacity to decarbonise many sectors of the economy, such as heavy industry (ammonia production, refining, petrochemicals, methanol and steel industry) and heavy and intensive mobility, whether on land (trucks, buses, taxis, commercial vehicles, trains), at sea (ships and ferries) or in the air (VTOL and aircraft).

Depending on its use, hydrogen can be produced locally, regionally or internationally and will require logistics chains of varying lengths. Hydrogen can be produced by electrolysis (from electricity and water), thermolysis (from woody biomass residues) or from waste. To meet these urgent environmental challenges, the energy sector must undergo a real revolution and drastically accelerate the structuring of renewable energy sectors.
